mediation

As a musician, one develops an ear for fine nuances. I bring this quality to guiding people in conflict. I am a connector, a bridge builder and have become enthusiastic about the possibilities of mediation. Mediation is the art of finding a “golden mean,” instead of a bad compromise that makes everyone unhappy. Finding creative solutions that emerge from seeing everyone's true needs.
In 2021, I completed the training course “Konfliktmanagement und Mediation in Organisationen” at the Universität Witten/Herdecke and Trigon Entwicklungsberatung, obtaining the “Certificate CAS for systemic organizational and business mediation”.

What is mediation?
Mediation can be a solution in almost all types of conflicts. When we find ourselves in conflict, our perception becomes narrowed and we are prone to stuck patterns of emotions, reactions and counter-reactions. Everyone retreats into their own fortress of views and opinions, flanked by negative emotions and hurt feelings. The job of a mediator is to facilitate the conversation between the parties so that each can speak out. A confidential and safe space for speaking one's own truth is created, where it becomes possible again to listen to each other and hear what both parties really need. The mediator does not suggest solutions but helps the parties to find good solutions themselves. The mediator is not biased but ensures that all parties in a conflict can feel heard. A found solution is made sustainable through concrete agreements and possibly an “aftercare” process.
